Provincial holidays vary widely — Family Day, the August civic holiday and Quebec's Saint-Jean-Baptiste are all excluded — and Boxing Day is a general holiday only for federally regulated employers. A holiday landing on a weekend is shown on the following working day, but the Canada Labour Code permits the working day before or after, so the substitute date here is modelled and an employer may designate the other one.
