Rule source: Lag om allmänna helgdagar (1989:253), rules last verified 2026-08-03. Statutory red days only. Midsummer Day and All Saints Day always fall on a Saturday and are omitted, as are Easter and Pentecost Sunday. The national day counts from 2005, when it became a public holiday in place of Whit Monday; Whit Monday in earlier years is not modelled. The de facto days off around the red days — Midsummer Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year Eve — come from collective agreements rather than statute and are excluded, so a Swedish team is typically off more days than this shows. Sweden has no weekend substitution.
